Okonomiyaki and Yakisoba 🍴

📍 Somewhere in Tokyo, Japan

Japan japan japan!! 🇯🇵 *squeeeeaaals*
I went to Japan!!! One of my top places in the world to visit!!
I feel very blessed to be able to travel here 🙂 .

The first day and was so excited/happy until I was giddy.
But this was our first meal when we were roaming about nearby our hotel and trying to explore the area and find food.

We stumbled upon this Okonomiyaki and Yakisoba place – the smell just filled the alleyway, to be honest.
Okonomiyaki is a Japanese style pancake, usually mixed with ingredients to your liking 🙂 .

On the grill…

Not knowing how big the portions are, we all kind of shared 4 orders.
2 orders of Okonomiyaki and 2 orders of Yakisoba for diversity!
We were all required to order a drink each but we were all basic and got green tea hahah. Yes, I used the word required because it actually specified that we needed to order one drink each on the menu.

The waitress was very sweet despite not being able to speak much English and offered us an English menu straight away. Maybe ordering a drink each was directed towards tourist because it was stated on the menu LOL…

Our waitress actually cooks the dishes for us. So she prepared it in front of us and cooked on the grill for us, and later she cut the pieces accordingly. It was amazing to watch her do it because it was like… perfection. Hashtag #Skills. Lots of practice while working here, I guess.

Squid Yakisoba
We got the Pork Yakisoba, Squid Yakisoba, Original B Okonomiyaki (which consisted of Pork, squid, shrimp and cheese) and the Naminori Okonomiyaki (which had seafood, soba noodles and egg).

Please forgive my photo captions… I have completely no idea which one is which.

Tadah!
Food food food

Topped with okonomiyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, along with aonori/seaweed and katsuobushi/bonito flakes!! All of our orders tasted hella good.

But I like the Original B Okonomiyaki and Pork Yakisoba the best!

Our waitress also gave us some sort of ice cream mochi candy when we exited (soooo sweet). She pulled it out of the freezer and had assorted flavours and we just grabbed a random one. I got an orange flavoured one, yum 😀 .

I have no idea what the restaurant is called since the name of the restaurant was in Japanese and I didn’t manage to snap a good picture of the exterior of the restaurant since it was quite spontaneous… But it was definitely a great experience for my first night/meal in Japan 🙂

More to come!!

Till next time, ♥
