MoCHA Cat Cafe 🐱

📍 Japan, 〒150-0001 Tokyo, Shibuya, Jingumae, 1 Chome−14−25 クロス アベニュー 原宿 4F

With several themed cafes in Japan, to visit a few is a must and a cat cafe was one of them! 🐱

There are a lot of cat cafes available in Tokyo but we decided on MoCHA Cat Cafe. MoCHA cat cafe has 4 different locations, but the cafe we went to was in Harajuku.

The Harajuku location is the 2nd most recent cafe to open in March 2016. The decor was also the prettiest from the website, in my opinion. The MoCHA cafe was located on the 4th floor of the building, so go on and take an elevator up 🙂

There were several rules and procedures before entering in. We had to take off our shoes and they gave us slippers to wear. They also had storage for your bags as well, which was locked with a key and the key has a rubber band thing so you can wear it around your wrist.

Sooo cutee

All the cats were all soo cute and their fur was incredibly soft and fluffy!
Some were fast to run away and not like getting pet I suppose..

There were also toys available for you to interact with the cats, besides petting them 🙂

This orange feisty one bit me!! I was regularly petting it and then it turned around and snapped at me…
I was so shocked and scared to pet it after…
But it turns out that it kept biting others as well, LOL.

Grouchy cat was not in a good mood that day.

Aesthetically, with big windows, a tree with bird cages decor, and a pastel colour palette, Harajuku’s MoCHA cafe was beautiful in person! The place itself looked big (due to the wide windows) but the space itself isn’t as big.

When we first arrived, the quiet atmosphere and soft meowing of the cats was what I had envisioned a cat cafe should be. But after awhile, there was quite a number of people in the cafe and it turned off my mood to interact with the cats because there was so much more people than before 😦 .
Probably because it was during the 1pm zone and more customers have started to come in.

Meow and me 🙂

Nevertheless, I had a fun time at MoCHA cafe with the cats.
It was nice being able to sit down, pet some fur babies and get a drink. Even if you’re not petting cats, seeing them roam about, or interaction with others is enjoyable too. It was quite relaxing overall.
I truly don’t know how MoCHA maintains all the cats fur being so delicate, smooth and fluffy at the same time!

Are you a dog person or a cat person?
If you’re a cat person, you should definitely put it on your list to visit a cat cafe in Japan. And if you’re a dog person… you should still try giving cat cafes a try. Maybe it’ll change your mind on cats 🙂

Till next time, ♥
